Details details details. If you have ever remodeled a home….or maybe even just watched a show about remodeling, you’ll know that it comes down to the details. Whether it’s agonizing over the precise placement of a kitchen island, finding the perfect shade of greige paint, or shopping for something to put on that awkward wall space, your home is an expression of you.
Here at The Created Home we obsess over details. So when Legrand US offered to replace the outlets and covers in our newly renovated kitchen, living room, and mudroom the answer was “Oh heck yes!”
The first thing you will notice about the Legrand radiant collection is that there are no visible screws. Talk about one of those perfect details! Changing out our outlets in the kitchen we renovated several months ago made a big difference. In fact, this one small change was so effective that when my brother walked into our home he almost immediately noticed the outlets and commented on how they were a really cool upgrade.
In addition to upgrading the overall look, we added some cool features with the radiant collection. Motion sensors in major traffic areas ensure that lights will not be left on. These lights are programmable for both occupancy and vacancy, and are able to be set to several time frames.
Nightlights in the hallways ensure that we will not stub our toes in the middle of the night navigating a home where walls are not where they used to be.
USB ports built into several of the outlets keep all of those electronic devices charged up. And we all know how important that is.
Install
I know you are wondering how difficult these are to install. I’m not going to give a specific tutorial, as I am not an electrician. I will say that I was able to do all of these myself. The instructions included with the Legrand outlets are detailed. Of course, you should always call a qualified electrician when in doubt. I did have a couple of questions when originally planning out which outlets we needed, and the Legrand tech support team was very helpful.
I am an absolute believer in the power of good lighting to transform a home. From the natural light that flows into windows, to fixtures of all varieties, to the switches that power the lights, the potential for change is dramatic. If you are thinking about changing just a few things in your home without necessarily renovating, lighting should be up at the top of your list.
We interact with our plugs and switches every day. Bring a little more happy in by upgrading the look and function of your lighting controls.
Thank you to Legrand US for helping me to finish off our mudroom with style. Be sure to check out the full line up of lighting products at www.legrand.us. You can check out more of the kitchen and mudroom renovations on my site as well.
Happy renovating!
Note: Though Legrand did sponsor this post all opinions are entirely my own. If you have specific installation questions be sure to reach out to the good folks at Legrand.
