We have a family tradition in our home. It involves selecting gifts for birthdays, showers, weddings, and holidays the day before. It’s a tradition I plan to break…right after I get back from picking up a present for a wedding tomorrow… Ha.
Seriously, Father’s Day is three weeks away, which either means you can jump on that now and pat yourself on the back for being awesome, or wait until the day before, and pat yourself on the back for being awesome. Go you.
Here are just a few father’s day gift ideas to get the wheels turning, plus one truly unique idea that I promise you won’t find anywhere else!
Because dads always need to wear clothes, right? I happened upon this awesome store recently and laughed out loud at several of the shirts. Really, I’m not just saying that. They are funny.
Who doesn’t love a mug?!
Give the gift of experience! I got my husband a certificate for indoor skydiving this last Christmas, and he loved it. As a bonus the kids really enjoyed watching, so it was a fun activity for everyone.
Feel like spending a little more on that special dad this year? You cannot go wrong with a drill. We personally use this set in our home and love them. They are pretty well in constant use, so back up batteries to switch out are a must!
5. Framed DAD photos
We did this one a couple years back, so forgive the old cell phone shot. Grab a couple letters from your local Michaels and snap away. By the way, the best advice I can give about this one is to not stress the poses. Just let the kids play with the letters and it will all be cute.
This is a sweet little idea from Craftaholics Anonymous that I made for my honey last year. It is super easy to make, and the kids can get involved. My husband loved it, and he still uses it!
7. Wrench frame
This is another great little idea that I found a year ago and have done for both my husband and my father in law. I love it when awesomely creative people share their ideas! Credit to www.muchmorecreative.net
Okay, the photo is kind of terrible. But it is a cute little golf set for the aspiring CEO. Or whatever he does. Sure, it’s cliche, but that’s half the fun, right?
9. Important date sign
Here’s another easy diy you can get creative with. Grab a board and fill it in with dates that important to you. Plus, now he doesn’t have any excuse to forget your anniversary.
10. The Ultimate Cool Dad Kit
I am one lucky woman, because my husband just adores our kids and wants to be with them. Once I stopped trying to fight that by way of finding gifts what took him away from the kids I was able to come up with something pretty uniquely fun. And dorky. But also fun. I call it The Ultimate Cool Dad Kit. Basically, it consists of a bunch of items that he can do with the kids. As a bonus, you can consider this a kit of things he can do while you are out on a ladies night or weekend. Win-win!
Here are the items I included. Feel free to copy them or use them as inspiration!
-a pass to the local Children’s Museum
-a couple local hiking guides with kid friendly hikes included
-a diy volcano kit
I piled all of that in a big tub (which I didn’t photograph) and included the world’s most ridiculously awful poem. I’ll leave the optional poem writing to you.
There you have it, 10 unique father’s day gift ideas for every budget. Hopefully you find something you like or are inspired in the right direction. I would love to hear your ideas as well!
